San Bernardino, CA — John Brooks, Jr. (JB) has been named president of Adams & Brooks, Inc. He will lead the executive and operational activities for the company and report to Chairman John E. Brooks, Sr.
“Adams & Brooks has been a family business since 1932 and I am proud to pass the leadership of the day-to-day operation over to John,” says Brooks, Sr. “I have the greatest confidence that he will continue to position the company and our brands for success in the future.”
With more 30 years of experience in various roles in the business, Brooks, Jr. began working at the company as a teenager in 1985. He joined the company full time in 1997 after earning an MBA from the University of Southern California.
Prior to being named president, Brooks, Jr. was COO of the company, involved in all aspects of the business. In his new role, he will continue to oversee the Adams & Brooks’ BRC-certified manufacturing facilities located in California and Mexico, where the company produces brands including Coffee Rio, P-Nuttles, Big Cherry, Cup-O-Gold, Whirly Pops, Unicorn Pops and Fairtime Taffy.
Brooks, Jr. led the company’s response to COVID-19, completing an initiative to establish the collection of real-time production data and is currently leading efforts to implement SAP. In addition to his manufacturing responsibilities, Brooks, Jr. is actively involved in the company’s product and brand development.
The company reports Brooks, Jr. is actively involved in NCA, where he has served as audit chairman, investment committee chair, and as an executive committee member; and recently rotated back to serving on the NCA Board of Trustees. He spent more than 10 years on the board of the Western Candy Conference in addition to chairing its conference in 2007.
