Goodlettsville, TN — Dollar General Corp. is building its 16th distribution center in Amsterdam, NY, the company reports.
When at full capacity, the estimated 750,000-square-foot building will create 430 jobs as well as 200 temporary construction positions, the retailer reports. Groundbreaking is planned for spring and the distribution center is expected to be complete by fall 2018.
The facility will supply some 800 Dollar General stores throughout New York and other northeastern states. Amsterdam was selected because of its proximity to Interstate 90, the local business environment, quality workforce and availability of state and local economic incentives, according to the company.
