FCCI Rolls Out Digital Cocoa Farmer Training Program

Cambridge, MA — The Fine Cacao and Chocolate Institute (FCCI) is deploying a collaborative digital cacao farmer peer-learning platform, called FCCI Cacao Academy, to provide training while social distancing, the institute reports.

Between June and August, FCCI designed and produced the first phase of digital content, and delivered the resources to 600 farming households in Nicaragua. Additionally, materials are being developed for growers in the Dominican Republic and Colombia through the end of this year, FCCI reports.

In the years to come, the FCCI Cacao Academy will continue to be developed and deployed in cocoa growing regions as “they adapt to the ‘new normal,’ to establish long-term, transparent solutions for farmers and trainers,” FCCI reports.
