Milan, Italy — Andrea Boggio joins SACMI Packaging & Chocolate as General Manager. In this new role, Boggio will lead the SACMI Packaging & Chocolate business, which includes the Carle & Montanari, OPM and Fima equipment lines for chocolate processing, moulding and wrapping, along with a broad range of primary and secondary packaging equipment.
Boggio joins the company from Lindt & Sprüngli, where he spent the entirety of his career most recently serving as vice-president of operations for the company’s Italian subsidiary Caffarel Spa. In that role he was responsible for the Turin-based plant.
Previously, he worked in Lindt’s Italian factory in positions including leading the moulding and wrapping department, production manager, maintenance manager and industrial performance manager.
Boggio holds a bachelor of mechanical engineering from Politecnico of Milan. “I’m very honored to join SACMI Packaging & Chocolate, with its truly impressive history in chocolate and confectionery making and a common goal of providing excellent service to our customers.”
He reports to Giovanni Campolungo, SACMI Packaging & Chocolate CEO. “In the past several years SACMI Packaging & Chocolate has invested with a strong commitment in the reorganization and expansion of its businesses. With Andrea Boggio and his extensive experience in our industry we expect to execute and improve our strategy based on the development of new products, completion of the range, rationalization of production and sales, new ‘total services’ to our customers all over the world,” notes Campolungo.
