San Francisco — Worldwide sales for organic snacks are expected to increase 13.3 percent, compounded annually, by 2027, according to Grand View Research, Inc. The market is projected to be valued at $19.9 billion by the end of the forecast period.

While supermarkets and hypermarkets are anticipated to be the main distribution channels for organic snacks through 2027, online retailers are expected to see the fastest growth at 14.9 percent, Grand View Research reports.

North America accounted for more than 40 percent of the market during 2019, due in part to shoppers in the U.S. and Canadian shop having stronger pers interest in organic products, the market research company claims.

Increasing demand for on-the-go items and convenient nutrition sources is expected to keep snack bars at the front of the market. During 2019, the sector accounted for more than 15 percent of organic snack sales, according to Grand View Research.
