Washington — Audra Vogler, CEO of brokerage Hoffmann Vogler, is the recipient of the 2023 Woman of Influence Award, recognizing a female in the confectionery industry who has demonstrated superior leadership and industry mentorship and has a proven record of growth, success and influence in the industry. Developed by NCA’s Women’s Leadership Group, Vogler will be presented with the award at the upcoming NCA State of the Industry Conference.
“Audra’s dedication to mentoring and encouraging women, especially young professionals just getting started in their careers, embodies the spirit of this prestigious honor,” notes John Downs, NCA president & CEO. “Her efforts to help women achieve their goals are inspiring and a proud reflection of the confectionery industry’s commitment to empowering diverse voices.”
Vogler was part of the group of industry professionals that first conceived of and established NCA’s Future Leadership Program in 2015 and has twice served as a mentor to women in the program. She continues to help the next generation of confectionery leaders by participating as part of NCA’s Young Professionals Network Committee where she has also taken on mentorship roles.
“Audra personifies what the WLG Woman of Influence Award is all about,” says Shelly Clarey, senior vice-president of sales and marketing, Adams & Brooks, Inc., and founding and current chair of the NCA Women’s Leadership Group. “Her influence is seen across the industry in her mentoring, involvement with young professionals and her business savvy.”
A respected member of the confectionery brokerage community, Vogler has been a contributor to NCA’s strategic direction through participation on its Broker Advisory Committee. Her contributions were also recognized with her induction into the Candy Hall of Fame in 2019 and receipt of NCA’s 2018 Golden Candy Dish, recognizing outstanding broker achievements.
Established in 2021, the Women of Influence Award spotlights female leaders within the industry who are influential, creative, innovative, dedicated and trusted. The 2022 award was presented to Emily Edmondson, Galerie, and the inaugural award in 2021 was given to Libby Taylor, who retired from NCA in 2020.
This year marks the first time the Woman of Influence Award will be presented at the State of the Industry Conference. Previously, winners were announced at the Sweets & Snacks Expo. Vogler will receive her award at the State of the Industry Welcome Reception & Awards Ceremony on Sunday, March 5, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
