Vancouver, B.C. — Huer Foods is partnering with Frank’s RedHot to bring the sweet-and-spicy flavor trend to the gummi sector with Frank’s RedHot Spicy Gummy Bears. The gummies feature an assortment of fruit flavors, including cherry, pineapple, and mango, with each bear coated in Frank’s RedHot Original Seasoning Blend. The combination delivers fruit flavor followed by a tangy cayenne pepper finish, the company reports.

According to Huer, the product was developed in response to growing consumer interest in sweet-and-spicy, or “swicy,” candy and the potential for the flavor profile to attract new consumers to the candy category.

“We worked closely with the McCormick Research & Development team to develop a custom Frank’s RedHot seasoning blend designed specifically for our gummi candy,” says Molly Clinton, head of marketing at Huer Foods. “The goal was to craft that unmistakable and iconic Frank’s RedHot flavor and heat, while perfectly complementing the sweet and fruity flavors of Huer’s gummies. We curated a gummi bear flavor assortment to complement the spice, leaning into fruit profiles consumers naturally associate with heat — think fresh fruit drizzled in chamoy and spice, and then we layered in a few unexpected ones, like cherry, to keep the experience surprising for your taste buds.

The company says it selected fruit profiles that pair naturally with heat while incorporating less expected flavors such as cherry to add variety to the experience.

“Bold flavor isn’t about pushing limits for the sake of it — it’s about creating something that keeps you coming back for more,” Clinton says. “We think we got that mix right, creating an experience that feels approachable, satisfying and craveable.”

“Other trends you’ll see us tapping into include elevated seasonals, approachable better-for-you candy that pushes back on diet culture, more unexpected collaborations, and continued taste exploration,” says Clinton, “We’re building on our Frank’s RedHot partnership with new launches, bringing more heat and bold flavor to the candy aisle. We’re also expanding our work with Cholula through new flavor launches — and, without giving too much away, there may even be an Old Bay-inspired crab feast on the horizon. Expect more culturally relevant flavors, playful partnerships and products designed to make candy feel fun, surprising and experiential.”
