Ft. Lauderdale, FL — Ashley Mady has joined specialty retailer It’Sugar in the newly created position of vice-president of brand development where she will oversee the company’s visual merchandising, private label, licensing, public relations and marketing efforts. The company has also promoted Chris Lindstedt to assistant vice president of merchandising leading the merchandising team on all strategic initiatives including vendor funding for promotions and collaborations, development and implementation of all merchandising processes and procedures, pricing initiatives and overall margin strength, and development of proprietary merchandise collections.
Mady joins It’Sugar from toy company Basic Fun! where she served as the head of brand development. Prior to joining Basic Fun!, she founded the brand licensing and creative agency Brandberry, which served as the creative agency for It’Sugar from 2011 to 2014.
“We are very excited to have Ashley join our leadership team,” says Jeff Rubin, CEO of It’Sugar. “She is an extremely dedicated and talented professional who I am sure will help catapult IT’SUGAR to the next level, and beyond.”
Lindstedt joined It’Sugar in 2013 as an associate buyer in the non-confections portion of the business and soon became involved with the merchandising of the confections and all of the company’s other product lines. She rose through the ranks having served as a buyer and senior buyer. Prior to joining It’Sugar, she held positions in Macy’s Florida’s buying offices, Ralph Lauren Childrenswear as a merchandiser for the Bloomingdale’s accounts, and with the St. Louis-based furniture company, Weekend’s Only.
“I am looking forward to taking on a role that focuses on bringing candy brands to life,” says Lindstedt. “By helping to manage the bigger picture, I will have a hand in all the products we carry, how they speak to our brand, and overall mission of being the premier retailtainer in the world! I have been able to develop some incredible relationships within our industry, and I am looking forward to continuing to partner with those vendors in ways that only It’Sugar can.”
