New York — To commemorate progress on its commitment to exclusively source its almonds from bee-friendly farmland globally by 2025, Kind LLC is hosting a virtual Bee Day Bash in collaboration with TikTok in honor of World Bee Day on May 20.
According to the company, almonds have been its number one ingredient by both volume and spend and since 2020, and it has encouraged the expanded use of bee-friendly practices among its almond farmers and across the almond industry.
“Pollinators, like bees and butterflies, are central to the plant-based ingredients that many of KIND’s products depend on. We are excited about the leadership we’ve seen from the almond grower community over the past few years to expedite the transition to bee-friendly practices,” says Russell Stokes, CEO of Kind. “We are eager to continue to build on this momentum as we approach our 2025 target and hopeful, we can complete this transition ahead of schedule. We have also begun to explore the ways we can go beyond bee-friendly to incorporate even more regenerative practices.”
As part of commemorating this progress, the company aims to build public awareness and appreciation for the role pollinators play within the food system. In addition to a short video that tells the story of Kind’s journey, the company will be co-hosting a virtual TikTok party on World Bee Day with TikTok influencers, @Mr.Mrs.BeeRescue.
During the event, viewers will be encouraged to donate to wildlife organization Re:wild by using TikTok’s “Donate Now” button. Kind will also be offering 1:1 donation matching for every dollar donated to Re:wild up to $20,000 between May 18 and June 3.
