Hackettstown, NJ — Mars Wrigley Confectionery U.S., LLC is now accepting applications for the 2021 Forrest E. Mars, Jr. Chocolate History Research Grant, a fund that supports innovation in areas of chocolate history research, scholarship and education, the candymaker reports. Applications are available on the American Heritage Chocolate website.

Up to $50,000 will be awarded through the grant and the deadline to apply is December 30, 2020, according to the company. Winners will be announced at the annual Heritage Chocolate Society meeting, slated for March 2021 in Washington DC.

“At Mars, we believe that chocolate has played an intrinsic role in our collective global heritage and culture,” says Gail Broadright, director Mars sponsorships and family properties. “The Forrest E. Mars, Jr. Chocolate History Research Grant was created to support institutions dedicated to revealing these stories, sharing them with the public, and preserving them for future generations.”
