Mondelez Leveraging Sour Patch Kids For Contactless ‘Reverse Trick-Or-Treating’

East Hanover, NJ — Mondelez International, Inc.’s Sour Patch Kids are hitting the road this Halloween with two forms of contactless “reverse trick-or-treating,” the CPG company reports.

On Halloween, brand mascots will make special contactless deliveries in 12 cities, passing out seasonal products such as Sour Patch Kids Zombies and branded toilet paper, Mondelez reports.

In one lucky city, Sour Patch Kids mascots will drive around in a larger than life Jack-O-lantern mobile, which is shaped like the classic trick-or-treating accessory. They will leave treats on doorsteps for a contact-free trick-or-treating experience, according to the company.

“We know so many kids in the U.S. look forward to typical Halloween traditions like dressing up in costumes and collecting a respectable candy stash,” says Danielle Freid, brand manager of Sour Patch Kids. “We’re hoping to bring the spirit of Halloween to American families with our reverse trick-or-treating experience as a reminder that there are still ways to get creative, have fun and enjoy treats — and tricks — in a safe way this Halloween.”
