Cleveland — The NCSA is hosting a virtual event on November 19 at 4pm EST to kickoff what it says will be a year of celebration leading up to the 50th anniversary induction weekend for the Candy Hall of Fame, October 22 to 24, 2021, in Tampa, FL.
The association says the event will include an update on programs and initiatives since it met in 2019, along with messages of congratulations from members of the Candy Hall of Fame and well wishes for the Class of 2021, whose induction had to be postponed when the 2020 in-person event was canceled because of COVID-19 restrictions.
“We understand that it was impossible for us to safely hold our event this year, but we wanted to make sure our members and the members of the Candy Hall of Fame still had a way to connect in 2020,” says incoming NCSA Chairman Mark Lozano, vice-president of North American operations for SACMI Packaging & Chocolate. “A kickoff party for the 50th anniversary of the Candy Hall of Fame seemed like the perfect idea.”
In addition to recognizing the members of the Class of 2021, the association will remember Candy Hall of Famers who have died in the past year, reveal the recipients of the 2020 scholarship program and unveil special 50th anniversary programs.
According to the association, attendees do not need to be members of the association or the Candy Hall of Fame to participate in the event. Registration details are available at www.bitly.com/chof50kickoff.
