American Licorice Co.’s latest product extension is Sour Punch Filled Straws in Blue Raz Lemonade and Cherry Limeade varieties. With an SRP range of $2.99 to $3.49, packs hold nine ounces of the creme filled ropes that feature a blend of flavors with the company’s classic sour coating.
“We wanted to give consumers something that provides a different eating experience,” explains Kristi Shafer, vice-president of marketing.
The company also extends its Red Vines line with a sub-brand — Vines — geared toward younger consumers. Vines Gummy Peaces are peace sign-shaped gummies in “island inspired” flavors — mango dragon fruit, Guava Sunrise, Island Punch, and passionfruit.
Packing 6.3 ounces per peg bag, Gummy Peaces have an SRP range of $2.49 to $3.49.
“We’re trying to capture the younger generation with something fun,” Shafer says. “We’ve leaned into the characters we’ve created and will continue with this going forward. We’re aiming for a vibe: ‘chilled and relaxed’.”
The Vines line also includes Filled Ropes, featuring a passionfruit orange guava center. Five-ounce bags have an SRP range of $2.99 to $3.49.
The company also debuts Sour Punch Banana Roulette, a flavor extension of the Roulette line with a mystery flavor. Bags contain five ounces of yellow gummies in assorted apple, pineapple-orange, lemon, and the “surprise” banana flavor. Five-ounce bags have an SRP range of $1.69 to $1.99.
