Schlott Named CEO At R. M. Palmer, Other Organizational Moves Announced

Wyomissing, PA — Mark Schlott has been named CEO of seasonal chocolate confections maker R. M. Palmer Co., LLC as part of recent strategic executive and organizational promotions and hires the company says are tied to ongoing initiatives positioning the it for continued growth.

Schlott began his career at R. M. Palmer in 1986 and most recently was executive vice-president of operations and COO. He is on the company’s board of directors and leads the senior management team. Schlott has served two terms on the NCA Board of Trustees and earned the association’s 2019 Advocate of the Year award. He was also a finalist for the 2020 Kettle Award and was inducted into the NCSA Candy Hall of Fame in 2021.

Serving as controller and treasurer is Bryan Faus, who has been with R. M. Palmer for 14 years and also sits on the board of directors and is a member of the senior management team.

Casey Grimm has been promoted to senior vice-president of sales, taking over the role from David Abramson, who retired at the end of 2023. Grimm has been with the company for more than 10 years, most recently as vice-president of national accounts. He also sits on the senior management team. In addition, Dan Hastings retired at the end of 2023 following a successful career at the company as regional sales manager.

R. M. Palmer has also reorganized its field sales structure to support its future growth. Deana Allocca, director of national accounts, has been with the company for five years and manages the company’s key retail accounts. Janet Zemantauski has been promoted from the internal sales team to West Coast regional sales manager, and Scott MacKenzie has joined R. M. Palmer as East Coast regional sales manager.

John Kerr continues in his role as director of marketing, leading the new product development, marketing and strategic planning as a member of the senior management team.

In operations, Logan Smith assumes plant manager responsibilities for all manufacturing operations and quality assurance. He has been with the company for more than 14 years. Bob Burkart, with 33 years of experience at R. M. Palmer, has been promoted to senior project engineer, leading strategic projects to rebuild and enhance the company’s production capacity and capabilities. Both are members of the company’s senior management team.

In addition, Kelly Scheuermann, quality assurance manager, has been named to the senior management team. She has been with R. M. Palmer for more than five years and prior to that worked for Quaker Maid Meats.

Steve Maguire continues to serve as director of purchasing, having been at the company for more than 10 years, during which he has held positions in purchasing and packaging engineering.

R. M. Palmer has also recently added two executives to the senior management team. Jennifer Pralow is general manager of Compound Development Solutions, LLC in Buffalo, NY, which was recently acquired by R. M. Palmer. Compound Development manufactures and markets chocolate candy melting wafers for the DIY baking/decorating category. Michelle Wiley also joins the company as vice-president of human resources.
