Walnut Creek, CA — Insignia Capital Group has completed the previously announced sale of Tillamook Country Smoker to Second Nature Brands, a portfolio company of CapVest Partners. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 1975 and headquartered in Bay City, OR, Tillamook Country Smoker produces meat snacks including jerky, sticks and smoked sausages. Insignia Capital Group invested in the company in 2017. According to Insignia, Tillamook Country Smoker has more than tripled its revenue and EBITDA since that investment while expanding from a predominantly Pacific Northwest brand into a national meat snack company.

During Insignia’s ownership, the companies also invested in modernizing Tillamook Country Smoker’s manufacturing operations and expanding production capacity and efficiency. Insignia says the company broadened its product development efforts during the period, including launching a Zero Sugar platform.

“It has been a privilege to partner with the Tillamook Country Smoker team and the entire Tillamook community,” says David Lowe, managing partner at Insignia Capital Group. “We are proud of everything the team accomplished together and look forward to watching what they accomplish with Second Nature Brands in their next phase of growth.”

Second Nature Brands’ portfolio includes Kar’s Nuts, Second Nature Snacks and Sanders Chocolates.
