San Francisco — See’s Candies is bringing back its DOGust campaign for a fourth year, setting a $105,000 fundraising goal in recognition of the company’s 105th anniversary.

The month-long campaign, which began August 1 — recognized as the universal birthday for shelter and rescue dogs — raises awareness and support for shelter dogs nationwide.

See’s is again partnering with the 15/10 Foundation, an organization that helps provide medical care and support for shelter dogs that might otherwise face barriers to adoption. The foundation sponsors dogs with severe medical and behavioral issues, covering their medical costs for life, and also funds free veterinary clinics in underserved communities.

Last year, See’s partnered with the organization on its DOGust efforts, and this year the candymaker is aiming to raise $105,000 for the foundation. Consumers can make donations at See’s shops or online.

“Since 1921, See’s has had the privilege of Bringing Joy to generations, and we’re always looking for new ways to share that Joy,” says Pat Egan, president and CEO of See’s Candies. “DOGust has become a special tradition for our company because it brings together our employees and our community for a cause that means so much to us and is so in line with our values and our mission. It’s rewarding to create opportunities for our furry friends to thrive.”

See’s is also marking DOGust with a lineup of dog-inspired products, including a new limited-time Paw Box filled with chocolates and a See’s-branded dog bandana.

Consumers who visit a See’s shop during August can also receive a complimentary “S” Medallion dog biscuit for their canine companions.

Throughout the month, See’s will share DOGust content and the stories of several dogs it has sponsored through the 15/10 Foundation on its social media channels. Consumers can participate by sharing photos of their pets using #SeesPetsandPortraits and tagging @seescandies and @1510foundation for a chance to be featured.
