Union, NJ — Smarties Candy Co. partnered with educator Blair Imani, sponsoring her “Smarter In Seconds” video for World Mental Health Day. The video explains how to fight mental health stigma and received more than 250,000 views shortly after its release on October 10. Imani is an award-winning educator and historian who refers to her viewers as ‘smarties.’
“Mental health stigma harmfully creates barriers to care, accommodation, and treatment,” says
Imani. She adds: “We should all do our part to fight ableism and mental health stigma, and
I am always pleased to partner and collaborate with the amazing and intentional team at Smarties.”
“We are delighted to partner with Blair Imani supporting her important educational work on World Mental Health Day,” says Smarties Co-President Jessica Dee Sawyer. “Our founder Edward Dee named his candy ‘Smarties’ to encourage people to be life-long learners, and educators like Blair Imani enable us to never stop learning.”
This is the company’s second partnership with Imani. The first was a sponsored “Smarter In Seconds” video explaining the origins of Black History Month.
