York, PA — Stauffer’s, a wholly owned subsidiary of Meiji America, is marking the back-to-school season with activities designed to bring creativity to lunch and snack occasions while continuing its partnership with Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) to encourage children to read. Through its Stauffer’s Simply Animals partnership, the book Bryson’s Rocket Riddles is available at no charge on RIF’s Skybrary reading app through November.

“Back-to-school season is all about getting back into a routine, but there are plenty of opportunities to make those everyday moments special,” says Ken Vlazny, senior vice-president of sales and marketing at Stauffer’s. “Simply Animals brings imagination and fun to lunch boxes, snack time and family activities, while giving parents ingredients they feel good about. Our 155-year-old family favorite is made without high-fructose corn syrup or artificial colors and is produced in a peanut-free facility in the U.S. We’re also proud to continue our partnership with Reading Is Fundamental and help make reading an enjoyable part of every child’s day.”

As part of the seasonal program, Stauffer’s is offering ideas for incorporating the animal-shaped graham crackers into lunches and after-school activities. The company suggests creating themed lunches based on Simply Animals shapes, including Camel Crossing, Lion’s Lunch, and Buffalo Stampede, paired with fruits, vegetables, and other foods.

Stauffer’s is also encouraging families to create after-school snack stations featuring its three Simply Animals flavors — Original, Cocoa, and Glazed Cinnamon. Original is offered in 12-count multipacks and 16-ounce bags, while Cocoa and Glazed Cinnamon come in 16-ounce bags.

According to the company, Simply Animals products contain no high-fructose corn syrup or artificial colors and are produced in a peanut-free facility in the U.S.
