In January 2023 a new Congress arrived in Washington. This is the same group of legislators who will consider farm bill reauthorization, and we can’t waste any time before engaging these policymakers in our fight to reform the U.S. sugar program. In 2023 every member of Congress is a possible supporter when it comes to reforming federal sugar policy. We’re asking you to come to D.C. to canvass offices on Capitol Hill to argue for changes to federal policy that will make more sugar available to U.S. manufacturers and stem the rising costs associated with the crucial commodity.
During your time on the Hill, you will not have a series of formal meetings. Instead, we will send you into dozens of offices to spread the word that it’s time to reform the U.S. sugar program. NCA will provide the talking points, create leave-behind materials and conduct follow-up, You will provide the compelling presence we need to show lawmakers that our industry matters. If you have an office or a facility close enough to bring several members of your professional staff or operations teams, please do. Imagine how effective it will be for any one office to be visited by dozens of VOTERS supporting sugar reform in one single day!
