U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue today joined the National Confectioners Association and executives from Lindt USA at the Lindt headquarters in Stratham, NH. The visit was an opportunity for Secretary Perdue to tour the manufacturing facility of a major employer in the state of New Hampshire, and experience firsthand the economic impact that the confectionery industry has on the state and national economy. As one of the state’s largest employers, Lindt provides 1,200 jobs in New Hampshire – and nationwide, the company employs more than 4,000 people.

The Confectionery Leadership Award, hosted by NCA in collaboration with Candy & Snack TODAY (CST) magazine, showcases top customers on an industry-wide level for their effective business collaboration, category management best practices and innovations in merchandising confectionery products in-store.
The National Confectioners Association’s Future Leadership Program is now accepting applications for the class of 2018. Five deserving young professionals (40 and under) in the confectionery industry will be provided with support, education, access and opportunity throughout the year-long accelerated leadership program. Fostering industry growth and advancement, NCA’s future leaders will engage in a formal mentorship with an esteemed member of the industry personally selected for them by the association’s Young Professionals Network committee.
