WASHINGTON – The National Confectioners Association’s Future Leadership Program is now accepting applications for the class of 2018. Five deserving young professionals (40 and under) in the confectionery industry will be provided with support, education, access and opportunity throughout the year-long accelerated leadership program. Fostering industry growth and advancement, NCA’s future leaders will engage in a formal mentorship with an esteemed member of the industry personally selected for them by the association’s Young Professionals Network committee.
“The Future Leadership Program has provided me with significant career growth opportunities,” said Chris Jenco, CEO of Jenco Brothers’ Candy. ”From connecting and conversing with top industry leaders to being given multiple opportunities to speak to the entire industry, the program is unlike any other in the industry.”
The selected young professionals will also attend NCA’s State of the Industry Conference, Sweets & Snacks Expo, Washington Forum and the Candy Hall of Fame, all of which offer exceptional professional development opportunities through education and networking.
“The program is an amazing opportunity to gain long-term mentors, and I would strongly urge anyone considering it to apply to be a future leader,” added Jenco.
Now in its third year, the Future Leadership Program is an initiative led by NCA’s YPN Committee and supported by the National Confectionery Sales Association, sponsors of the Candy Hall of Fame. The program continues to garner praise for its commitment to the next generation of confectionery leaders.
The deadline to apply is Friday, September 29, 2017. Employees of NCA member companies and qualified retail customers are eligible to apply. More information about the Future Leadership Program and the application process can be found on NCA’s website.
