“I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of U.S. Representative David Scott. Throughout his distinguished career, he was a steadfast champion for the people of Georgia and a valued supporter of the confectionery industry, leaving behind a legacy of tireless advocacy and public service. On a personal note, David was a longtime friend. He led with conviction, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to those he served and I will continue to look to his example in my own leadership. His presence – both in Congress and in the lives of so many people he knew and represented – will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with his family, loved ones, colleagues who served alongside him in the U.S. House of Representatives and Georgia Legislature, and the many people whose lives he positively impacted throughout an illustrious career.”
