WASHINGTON – The National Confectioners Association and Candy & Snack TODAY magazine are accepting nominations for the Confectionery Leadership Awards. The awards, presented annually at NCA’s State of the Industry Conference, recognize two of the industry’s top retail or wholesale buyers, category managers or executives.
Recipients of this award must:
- Leverage leadership, experience and insights to move the confectionery industry forward in today’s competitive landscape;
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to building relationships and growing new business with confectionery manufacturers and shoppers;
- Exhibit a consistent ability to drive best practices at retail and within the supply chain; and
- Act as a role model for other retailers and wholesalers through category promotion, product and merchandising innovation and cross-functional collaboration.
“The confectionery industry and its retailers are true partners in business,” John Downs, NCA president and CEO, said. “Retail partners help our candy companies connect with shoppers and, in turn, the confectionery industry generates $36 billion in retail sales and supports more than 114,000 retail jobs. The Confectionery Leadership Awards recognize partners who deepen these vital relationships and celebrate the vibrancy of the chocolate and candy categories.”
The 2020 Confectionery Leadership Awards will be presented during NCA’s annual State of the Industry Conference (March 1-3) at the Boca Raton Resort & Club in Boca Raton, Fla. In addition to recognition in front of their peers at one of NCA’s signature events, recipients of the Confectionery Leadership Award will also be invited to participate in the Sweets & Snacks Expo’s Most Innovative New Product Awards taste panel and will be featured in the March/April 2020 issue of Candy & Snack TODAY.
NCA members are encouraged to nominate exceptional retail and wholesale partners at CandyUSA.com/confectionery-leadership-award-nomination/. The deadline to nominate is October 25.
