Statement From The National Confectioners Association On Judge’s Decision To Allow for Harmful U.S. Sugar Merger To Continue

WASHINGTON – Today, the National Confectioners Association released the following statement after a federal judge allowed U.S. Sugar’s acquisition of Imperial Sugar to proceed:

“This decision doesn’t change the fact that the U.S. sugar program still negatively impacts American consumers and food manufacturers. We encourage the Biden administration to continue to use all levers at their disposal to help make American food manufacturers more competitive with the rest of the world and bring the cost of food down in this country.”
