    SOTIC 2020: Our Industry Met For The Last Time In Person

    The State of the Industry Conference, which took place over the first few days of March, gathered the confectionery industry to connect and share ideas and insights. The COVID-19 crisis was formally declared a global pandemic on March 11, making the 2020 State of the Industry Conference the confectionery industry’s last in-person event in 2020.

  • Thrive in 2025: NCA Announced New Five-Year Strategic Plan

    At the 2020 State of the Industry Conference, NCA introduced a new five-year strategic plan, titled Thrive in 2025, which set out new goals for the organization, including strengthening advocacy and communication capabilities, identifying the disruptive trends of the future and developing positive and meaningful thought leadership.

    NCA Launched Inaugural State of Treating Report

    NCA’s first-ever State of Treating report blended proprietary consumer survey findings with category and channel performance data to outline the year’s defining trends. It consisted of a bite-sized executive summary, the complete research study, a visual presentation and ready-to-use infographics, which are all available to NCA member companies and retail customers.

    As of the publication of this annual report, NCA has released the 2021 State of Treating Report.

    NCA Welcomed The 2020 Future Leadership Program Class

    NCA welcomed its 2020 class of Future Leaders, which included Lisa Eustic, Senior Marketing Director, The Promotion In Motion Companies, Inc.; Betsy Hritz, Regional Sales Manager, Just Born Quality Confections; Liz Miller, Senior Marketing Manager, Divine Chocolate; Takuma Oka, Director of Sales, Morinaga America, Inc.; and Mathew Rubinstein, Vice President, Billie-Ann Plastics Packaging Corp.

    As of the publication of this report, NCA has also announced its 2021 Future Leadership Program class.

  • Walmart’s Melody Phan Rich & Five Below’s Michael Smull Honored With CLAs

    NCA and Candy & Snack TODAY announced the 2020 Confectionery Leadership Award winners Melody Phan Rich, Senior Buying Manager – Seasonal Candy, Walmart; and Michael Smull, Senior Buyer, Five Below. The awards were presented at the State of the Industry Conference in March 2020.
